BIGBURY HOLLOW

BigBury Hollow, is an amazing build going on in an area of natural beauty in the local Kent countryside. To keep the area looking as it does the house has been sunk 5meters below the ground with two wings joining together with a timber framed half tube section constructed from ply ribs and glue lam beams which is all self supporting.

The project is going to be featured on Channel 4s Grand Designs we have had the pleasure of meeting Kevin McCloud whilst doing the timber framing for the build.

BigBury Hollow is part concrete, part timber frame. The beauty in timber framing is that the build is very fast compared to traditional building methods it is also very eco friendly with a low carbon footprint and is a lot cheaper per m2. In the building industry time is money so if your project is up and weather tight quicker you'll be saving money.
